Who We Are - Kesva An Taves Kernewek

Who We Are

The Cornish Language Board was founded in 1967 by the joint resolution of the Gorsedd of Cornwall and the Federation of Old Cornwall Societies to continue the work of promoting Cornish which had been the responsibility of those two bodies.  It is an elected Board with official representatives from Cornwall Council and the two founding organisations.  Elections take place every three years, the electorate being the members of Kowethas an Yeth Kernewek (The Cornish Language Fellowship) world-wide, although candidates need not be members of the Kowethas. Current members are: (elected) Roger Bailey, Roger Courtenay, Maureen Fuller, Stephen Gainey, Tony Hak, Stephen Harris, Julyan Holmes, Loveday Jenkin, Mick Paynter, Maureen Pierce, Polin Prys, Graham Sandercock, Esme Tackley, Mark Trevethan, Koreen Twydell; (appointed) Jori Ansell, Wella Brown, Liz Carne, Ken George, Julian German, Pol Hodge.
